Updated NICE guidance on OA: emphasis remains the same
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common, disabling and costly condition managed mainly in primary care. A rise in prevalence is partly explained by increasing obesity and longevity. NICE CG177 (February 2014) updates the 2008 guidance on this topic. In the light of recent evidence a number of recommendations have been revised relating to OA diagnosis, treatment and review.
