Vildagliptin: alternative add‐on therapy for oral glycaemic control

Vildagliptin, an oral DPP‐4 inhibitor, is licensed as an add‐on therapy when adequate glycaemic control has not been achieved with metformin, a sulphonylurea or a glitazone.
