Abstract
Saxagliptin (Onglyza) is a new DPP‐4 inhibitor licensed as add‐on therapy with metformin, a sulphonylurea or a thiazolidinedione in type 2 diabetes. In our New products review, Steve Chaplin presents the data relating to its efficacy and adverse effects as a component of dual therapy, and Professor Jiten Vora summarises the potential role of the DPP‐4 inhibitors.
