Is it effective to target treatment using just calculated CHD risk?

Statin prescribing for the primary prevention of CHD is based on risk calculated from long‐term population data. Here, the author discusses the issues with the current risk models and suggests that money could be better spent on improved targeting through the use of a diagnostic test.
