NICE publishes first three quality standards
Published on 07/19/10NICE has defined high-quality care for the NHS in three areas with its first set of quality standards.
The standards address the care of people with dementia (care provided by health and social care staff in direct contact with people with dementia in hospital, community, home- based, group-care, residential or specialist-care settings), stroke (adult stroke patients by healthcare staff during diagnosis and initial management, acute-phase care, rehabilitation and long-term management) and prevention of venous thromboembolism (reducing risk in adults admitted as hospital inpatients or formally admitted to a hospital bed for day-case procedures).
