Ticagrelor: an antiplatelet drug for ACS

Ticagrelor is a novel anti–platelet drug co-administered with aspirin for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in acute coronary syndromes. It has been approved for use by both NICE and SMC. This supplement gives an overview of the use of antiplatelet therapies in ACS and describes ticagrelor in terms of efficacy, safety and tolerability, and risk management.
